éXō Fleets Insights - Every mile counts
éXō Fleets Insights: Every Mile Counts is the podcast for fleet leaders navigating mixed-fuel, mixed-class, multi-site operations, while balancing cost, performance and sustainability.
Each episode explores the real-world decisions shaping modern fleets, from diesel, EV, HVO, CNG and hydrogen, to infrastructure, data, funding and operations. We break down how better fleet insight drives measurable savings, lowers cost-per-mile, and helps organisations track, manage and achieve CO₂ reduction and sustainability targets with confidence.
Hosted by the éXō Fleets team alongside industry experts, customers and partners, éXō Fleets Insights: Every Mile Counts cuts through complexity to focus on what actually matters: visibility across fuels and sites, performance measurement, emissions reporting and practical actions that deliver both financial and environmental results.
Because when you understand what’s really happening across your fleet, every mile becomes an opportunity, to reduce costs, cut emissions, hit CO₂ targets and move your fleet forward with clarity and control.

EV Reality Check: Why Stellantis’ CEO Is Right to Speak Out
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
When Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa urged the EU to rethink its EV transition strategy, it wasn’t just a soundbite, it was a wake-up call.
In this episode, we break down:
• Why the light commercial vehicle sector is facing a true crisis
• The danger of one-size-fits-all policies in a mixed-fuel, mixed-reality world
• How smarter, more flexible fleet transitions can still hit climate targets, without leaving operators behind
• Why more leaders in the transport ecosystem need to speak up now
From hybrids to hydrogen, depot electrification to EU incentives, it’s time to ditch the dogma and back practical, scalable solutions. If you care about the future of fleets, this episode is a must-listen.

At ZeroMission, we’ve long believed that the future of transport must be clean, connected, and collaborative, but it must also be realistic.
That’s why we fully support the recent call by Antonio Filosa, the new CEO of Stellantis, for the European Union to show greater flexibility and urgency in its transition to electric vehicles.
In a joint interview with Il Sole 24 Ore and Les Echos, Filosa didn’t mince his words. He acknowledged the ambition of Europe’s zero-emission goals, but rightly pointed out that ambition without agility can backfire.
“A strategic dialogue is very important, but now it's vital to act with urgency. There is no time for delays.”
— Antonio Filosa, CEO, Stellantis
We agree. Across Europe, fleet operators, especially those running light commercial vehicles (LCVs), are being pulled in multiple directions. They’re expected to decarbonise rapidly, absorb rising operational costs, adapt to a fragmented charging ecosystem, and navigate a sea of policy complexity.
Yet many are still operating vehicles that are over a decade old.
Why Filosa’s Message Matters for Fleet Decarbonisation
Filosa called on the EU to support a broader mix of powertrains, including hybrids and transitional fuels, as part of a pragmatic path to emissions reduction. He also advocated for:
- A five-year emissions evaluation period for LCVs (instead of three),
- A strategic policy shift that promotes scrappage and modernisation of old vehicles,
- And wider support for technology-neutral innovation.
At ZeroMission, we see first-hand how mixed-fuel, transitional strategies, including hybrids, HVO, biogas, and hydrogen, play a critical role in helping fleets bridge the gap between today’s operational needs and tomorrow’s net-zero goals.
Smart transition isn’t about either/or. It’s about yes/and.
A Call for More Industry Leaders to Speak Up
Filosa’s stance is not just timely, it’s bold. And we need more leaders like him to speak up.
Too often, the narrative around transport decarbonisation becomes a race to the most electrified finish line. But the real race is for resilient, inclusive, economically viable solutions that can scale across all fleet types, all geographies, and all use-cases.
The fact that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is hosting top automotive CEOs this September 12th is a sign that Brussels is listening. But listening is only the beginning. What fleets need now is:
- Clear guidance, not constant uncertainty.
- Incentives for real-world emissions impact, not just new sales.
- Support for infrastructure, grid integration, and depot charging, especially for LCVs and heavier segments.
What ZeroMission Is Doing
Our éxō Fleet Intelligence Platform supports mixed-asset fleets every day, monitoring performance, managing charge schedules, predicting maintenance, and optimising total cost of ownership across ICE, EV, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles.
We're here to empower fleet operators, not dictate technology choices. We believe in meeting fleets where they are, and helping them move forward, confidently.
Final Thought
The transition to zero-emission transport is not a straight line, it’s a smart route. And that route must include dialogue, data, diversity of technology, and above all, leadership.
To Mr. Filosa: thank you for showing yours.
To the European Commission: fleets are ready to act. Don’t make them wait.
